CCTV is an integral part of the security for all businesses weather it is small, medium or large. CCTV as a technology has been evolved by leaps and bounds. The era has come which has given very important term as “IP Video Surveillance”. IP video surveillance aims to give pro-active and cutting-edge features to today’s modern enterprise.
NVR stands for Network Video Recorder. NVR systems record and store video footage directly from the network it deployed in. These systems work with an advanced type of camera, called IP cameras. IP cameras can actually capture and process video and audio data themselves.
An Internet Protocol camera, or IP camera, is a type of digital video camera that receives control data and sends image data via the network (LAN or Internet). They are commonly used for surveillance but unlike analog closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, they require no local recording device, only a local area network.
Video Management Software
A video management system, also known as video management software or a video management server, is a component of a system that in general:
- Collects video from cameras and other sources
- Records / stores that video to a storage device
- Provides an interface to both view the live video, and access recorded video
A VMS can be the software component of a NVR, though in general a VMS tends to be more sophisticated and provide more options and capabilities than a packaged NVR device.
